While there were no huge announcements from Disney this week there was still plenty of news. From the new M&M store to an increase in crowds to Yoda streetwear, we’ve got you covered.
The beginning of January saw crowds drop significantly, with reasonable wait times across all four parks. That may be the anomaly as wait times increased this weekend. While Touring Plans describes the wait times as moderate, I’d argue that almost an hour for Astro Orbiter and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad feels a bit longer than moderate.
While crowds may be down overall, Disney Tourist Blog lays out why Hollywood Studios is more crowded while still being less busy.
With park capacity down, it makes me wonder what 2021 will look like at theme parks around the world. Early data from Theme Park Insider shows that people just aren’t searching for Disney, Universal or other popular theme parks. It seems that park capacity will still be limited for quite some time, maybe the entire calendar year of 2021. It remains to be seen if demand will meet supply.
If you are stuck at home, remember that Disney+ can still fill that gap for that Disney magic. My teenage daughter talked about her 10 favorite shows on Disney+ right now. A few of her choices surprised me! You can also outfit yourself in some pretty awesome street wear from Disney featuring your favorite characters.
This is the way. Check out the all-new streetwear collection inspired by the Child and coming to @shopDisney, Disney stores and select Disney Parks next month! https://t.co/wPv4hQ8WVY pic.twitter.com/7t51qypmXv

There’s plenty of sweetness and color in the new M&M Store that opened at Disney Springs this week. I’ve always been a sucker for M&M stores, visiting the Las Vegas one many times over the years. I can’t wait to see inside the new Disney Springs version.
Disneyland seems to be extending discounts to former annual passholders, now referring to them as “Legacy Passholders”. That seems to be a solid indication that some sort of annual pass program will return to Disneyland.
Wrapping up this week with good news for Disney Vacation Club members, the EPCOT DVC member lounge above Journey Into Imagination With Figment will stay open at least through the end of 2021. It’s one of our favorite perks of being Disney Vacation Club members!
Hope you’re enjoying your week. Stay tuned for more theme park news next week!
