WDW News Today is one of my go-to sources for Disney news, big and small. I wouldn’t color this “major”, but it could be a nice surprise if you’re at the Magic Kingdom this holiday season.
WDWNT is reporting that guests are receiving bonus FastPasses for rides. It seems the folks at Magic Kingdom are handing them out on a random basis. Downside? You can’t use them on Seven Dwarfs Mine Train or Peter Pan. That’s a bummer, but a bonus FastPass is still pretty nice, especially during the busier holiday times.
I agree with WDWNT’s hunch that these are being given out on nights when there’s not a Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.
One More Thing
As a side note, I’ve learned that there’s actually a small window in December when Disney World is a bit less crowded. It’s a narrow window, but about 2 weeks after Thanksgiving there’s a bit of a lull. Call it December 10th-ish. If you’re looking to experience the Christmas season at Disney World but want to avoid the sea of humans, shoot for then.
