While the pandemic has put a damper on the spirits of some Disney fans, so many of us are gearing up for the 50th anniversary celebration at Walt Disney World. We finally have a few details. Based on an announcement earlier today, the celebration will start October 1st, 2021 and continue for 18 months.
Each of the four theme parks will feature a new effect. Magic Kingdom will compliment the recent face lift on Cinderella’s Castle with gold bunting and other decorations.

Hollywood Studios will light up Tower of Terror in a special lighting arrangement and magical fireflies will come to nest in the Tree of Life at Animal Kingdom.

And, EPCOT gets a permanent addition with new twilight starts appearing on Spaceship Earth.

We’ll Celebrate In October
Dubbed “The World’s Most Magical Celebration”, it won’t just be new decorations to commemorate the anniversary. Two very special stars, Mickey and Minnie will also have a special outfit for the celebration.

We’re sure there are plenty of announcements still to come for the 50th anniversary celebration. An 18-month celebration is sure to allow time for all Disney fans to be a part of the celebration. And, for those who are a bit more…..dedicated, we’ll be able to enjoy the celebration many times over.
