The theme park news keeps rolling in on a weekly basis. Disneyland is poised to reopen, we’ve seen capacity crowds in the parks and we see more theme park hotels continue to reopen. Here’s what’s happening:
After a busy spring break season, it seems like crowds are finally starting to quiet down. It’s hard to say when the next time the parks will fill up, but there’s plenty happening. We’re currently well into the Flower & Garden Festival, which runs straight into the Food & Wine Festival this summer. From there, we’re right into the start of the 50th anniversary celebration starting in October.
Still, the signs are there for a boost in attendance as Disney World adds plenty of extended park hours through mid-June.
Plenty of folks planning a family vacation to Disney World were disappointed to hear that Disney was discontinuing Magical Express in 2022. Magical Express, the popular complimentary bus service between Orlando International Airport and Disney World is a very convenient option for families with plenty of luggage and little ones in tow. Now, the provider of that service has announced they’ll be launching a replacement service. There are no announcement on cost yet, but it’ll surely be more expensive than it is today.
We love rumors, especially Disney ones. It seems that the rumor of a hotel inside EPCOT has started circulating again. This may just be one of the coolest ideas we’ve heard in quite some time. Count us in for opening day on this one!
As COVID-19 cases mostly decrease across the US, we’re starting to see more theme parks increase operations. Sea World in Orlando announced that they’re reopening their rides on April 12th.
Meanwhile, at Universal Orlando we finally have a date for the new Velocicoaster. On June 10th, this awesome and scary coaster will whisk guests all throughout Universal in a breathtaking sprint to escape.
Disneyland is poised to reopen their gates, though in a very limited capacity. If you’re from a state other than California right now, you’re not even allowed (though we expect that to change shortly). Mice Chat has a list of attractions that won’t be back right away when the gates reopen.
And, not too long after Disneyland reopens they’ll also be opening the brand new Avengers Campus. While the entire addition won’t be completed when it opens on June 4th, you should be able to catch WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure. This is a 3D interactive ride that you’ll use your hands to jump into Spidey’s adventure. We can’t wait to try this one out.
Last bit for this week. As much as it pains me to say it, this is one heck of a funny Tweet.
I honestly just keep playing for the free trips to Disney World… https://t.co/PzwWAmFWla
