Disney World has introduced a number of discounts on hotels that can save a bunch of money on a Disney World vacation. There are currently two different offers available to everyone as well as an offer for Florida Residents and another offer for Annual Passholders. We’ll cover all of them below.
Early 2021 Disney World Resort Discounts
Disney World is offering discounts as high as 35% at virtually all resorts through late April. The biggest savings are for at Deluxe resorts. However, there are also discounts for stays with weekend nights included and you can still save up to 25% at Moderate Resorts along with a 20% discount at Value Resorts. This specific set of discounts is available for stays through April 17, 2021 as long as you book by March 15, 2021. Here’s a look at the discounts available across various resorts:
Keep in mind that some resorts haven’t reopened yet. For example, Disney’s All-Star Resort remains closed, with only All-Star Movies holding a tentative date of March 22, 2021 for reopening. Our advice here would be to book Disney’s Art of Animation or Pop Century Resort if you’re looking for a value choice. In fact, Disney’s Art of Animation’s Family Suites are one of our favorite values at Disney World. At the right price, those rooms can be a phenomenal value for families since they typically have three beds and two bathrooms. Here’s a quick look at what these discounts look like in reality for a random set of dates during the discount period:
As you can see, the discounts vary widely by resort. But, there are some decent savings to be had. This is separate from the recent offer of two free park days when you purchase a room and ticket package from Disney World.
Spring Into Magic Disney World Resort Discounts
If you’re looking for a late spring/early summer trip, the Spring Into Magic discount is right up your alley. Spring Into Magic offers up to 30% discounts on stays from April 18 through July 10, 2021 as long as you book by May 27, 2021. As you can see below, the discounts vary across the different resort properties.
Late April through July is generally a slower time at Disney World, so I’m not surprised to see prices lower at some resorts. If demand doesn’t pick up, it also wouldn’t be surprising to see bigger discounts or offers than these.
Annual Passholder Disney World Resort Room Discount
We first saw this discount on WDWNT. The Annual Passholder discount covers the same period as the Spring Into Magic time period, from April 18 through July 10, 2021. However, unlike Spring Into Magic the Annual Passholder discount is available to book until July 10th. You’ll need to login with your Annual Passholder credentials to see available rates. Here’s an overview of the various discounts:
We wanted to get a sense of how much better these discounts might be than Spring Into Magic. So, we compared the same four properties that we used in the Spring Into Magic screenshot above. While Disney’s All-Star Movies, Fort Wilderness and Grand Floridian Resorts were cheaper (by about 10-15%), Caribbean Beach Resort actually turned out to be more expensive. We can’t really explain that one, but it reinforces that you should check both discounts if you’re an Annual Passholder.
Florida Resident Disney World Resort Room Discount
Similar to the Annual Passholder discount, the Florida resident discount runs from April 18 to July 10, 2021. You can book through July 10, 2021 for these discounts. Checking the same four properties and dates, it’s again a weird mish-mash of pricing. Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort, Fort Wilderness and Grand Floridian Resorts are all cheaper for Annual Passholders, where Caribbean Beach Resort is cheaper on the Florida resident discount plan.
The Final Two Pennies
Disney World is offering some pretty good discounts right now for a variety of trips covering the next six months. The two free days of park tickets may be tempting but remember that park tickets get much cheaper the more days you purchase. At a Value resort, the two free days of park tickets may be your best option. However, at higher priced Moderate or Deluxe resorts, we suspect you may be better off purchasing tickets separately and selecting the right discount from the list above.
These discounts are some of the most generous we’ve seen Disney World offer during peak times. 20-30% discounts are something we’ve seen in the past, though typically not during spring break. Remember that any Disney World trip in 2021 will require reservations to visit the parks, not just park tickets. Right now, virtually all dates in the first six months of 2021 have availability but that will almost certainly change.
