Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is easily the most anticipated hotel in Disney history. It’s also one of the most anticipated attractions, and it’s sure to bring new meaning to the term “immersive”. True Star Wars fans have been watching this project inch along the past few years, to the point where the next big development will be when reservations open. Halcyon, the reported name of the Galactic Starcruiser looks to be in the final stages of construction. It’s one of the top attractions we’re looking forward to in 2021.
Recently, the president of Walt Disney World Resort, Jeff Vahle, posted images of his walkthrough at Halcyon:
Star wars fans undoubtedly have zoomed in on these images repeatedly in the last few days looking for more clues on what the experience will be like. Disney has been fairly tight-lipped about what to expect, with small releases of information over the past few years. We’ve been keeping track and you can read about all the developments thus far in our article.
The most important detail left (other than when Halcyon will accept their first trainees) is the price for the experience. A 2-night, 3-day excursion on Halcyon will likely be one of the most expensive Disney has ever offered. With the potential for fewer than 100 “cabins”, rumors are that a trip on Halcyon could set a family back as much as $5,000. We expect demand to be quite high when Halcyon takes off. However, we do expect demand will fall. And, at those prices it may not take long. For now, we wait for Halcyon to announce when it will dock for the first crew.
